Pancake Race
Congratulations to 7D1 and 7D2 on their fundraising event for CLIC Sargent. They organised a pancake race after school in the Sports Hall. This was well attended and good fun, with students and staff joining in.

Two students in 9C2 have been selected to represent St Bart’s in the Young Chef 2009 competition. They have competed against 300 students across Berkshire to reach the finals and will be cooking their dishes for a panel of judges next week.
The school’s enterprising Year 12 students have been taking part in the Young Enterprise Primary Programme. Before half term a group spent five Friday afternoons working at John Rankin Junior School teaching two classes of Year 4 pupils all about the curriculum topic ‘Our City’. More news has been sent from China by former student Will Millard. Will has now begun teaching English in a Chinese school and finds the staff in Shanghai very helpful. He is getting involved in Chinese life having started to learn Mandarin which is extremely hard, and having Kung Fu lessons going to Hongkou Park each weekend. He’s also [...]
The House Plays were a great success with all four Houses putting on excellent performances in this annual competition. The plays were performed by Year 10 students and directed by Year 12s. Davis House was declared the overall winner with their performance of Troy.
Make a note in your diary that the Parents’ Association will be holding a car boot sale on Sunday 8 March at 11.00am (set up from 10.30am) in Luker car park. A limited number of free pitches will be available to St Bart’s students raising money for Duke of Edinburgh and World Challenge expeditions or House charities. [...]
As part of the school’s International Award work St Bart’s was joined by two Dutch students in January. They came over from Groenlo in Holland to look at English life and education and to practise their speaking and listening skills. They were very complimentary about St Bart’s and enjoyed their few weeks in England.
